Healthy Eating
Fare For All works hard to make sure our packages contain healthy staples – items like fresh produce and lean meats that are usually most expensive at the grocery store. In addition to sourcing products with nutrition in mind, we provide easy, dietician-created recipes and nutrition tips to eat healthy on a budget.

Big River Farms is another program of The Food Group. We offer land access and education in organic agriculture for immigrants, refugees, people of color, and others who have historically faced discrimination in accessing farmland, markets, education and other farming support. The primary market opportunity BRF provides farmers is our aggregated CSA program. We source a variety of different veggies and herbs grown by multiple farmers into weekly shares, or boxes, for delivery to CSA members.

Food Storage
Every year, Americans throw away almost 40 million tons of food- that’s almost 220 pounds per person, and over one-third of the food supply. In Fact, food is the single largest contributor to landfills in this country.* Properly storing your food can make it last longer, taste better, protect it from spoilage and bacteria, and ensure it serves its purpose to nourish you and your family- NOT end up in a landfill!
Food Dating

Fare for All buys meat in bulk as it is offered to us, and as we are able to procure it. We buy in huge volumes, so we use it over time in our meat packs.
Meat does not typically carry “expiration dates”, but rather, “use or freeze by” dates. Fresh meats should be either consumed or frozen by those dates.
Fare for All works only with frozen meats. We either purchase meats already frozen by manufacturers and wholesalers (ensuring they were frozen BEFORE their “use or freeze by” dates) or we buy unfrozen meat BEFORE its “use or freeze by” date and deep freeze it ourselves. Either way, we’re able to hold our meats in very safe conditions for a reasonably long period of time.
We strictly adhere to USDA guidelines, but put our own ‘within 24 months’ recommendation on it for best taste. The USDA website states, “Once a perishable product is frozen, it doesn’t matter if the date expires because foods kept frozen continuously are safe indefinitely.”
Fare for All guarantees that all of our meat was frozen well BEFORE the date listed, and has been kept continuously deep-frozen (below 0 degrees) during our possession. Once purchased, of course, customers determine for themselves whether to keep their meats frozen or thaw for more immediate use.
We hope this helps answer your question. If you have further questions or need anything else, feel free to contact us at [email protected] or 763-450-3880. Your safety and satisfaction are our top priorities.
